Weekend Fun!

Saturday we went to Lake Merwin with my Mom, Jeff & Adam. It was SO nice and beautiful. We had a blast boating, visiting, and eating a yummy BBQ. Ayva got to swim for the first time and she loved it! Thanks again Mom & Jeff! Here are some pictures from our fun day-

Samantha the Salmon

Scotty went fishing Saturday with his buddy Jade. I knew he was excited to go because NOTHING else (besides snowboarding) would get him out of bed at 4:30am!He had so much fun, and brought home... Scott is taking over the story now, apparently I'm about to tell a girly version...

Alright I got to go on Jade's sweet red river boat. He let me use all of his elite salmon gear. We started fishing at 5:30am and at 10:07 while we were on the phone to Mario a fish struck Jade's rod. We hung up the phone and Jade jumped on the pole, "Fish On!" he said! While I was trying to put the phone away Jade threw the Pole in my hand and said, "Bring 'er in Scott, this one's yours!" I jammed the end of the rod in my left gut and started cranking that reel. Due to all of the excitement, nerves, and inexperience I never stopped reeling. After about a minute we all got a good glimpse of the fish roll past the boat. After three minutes we got the fish to the boat and as Jade tried to net it the fish took off swimming down stream and ran out fifty feet of line in seconds. In the five to seven minute region we got the fish in the boat, clubbed it over the head. She was a she weighing in at 18lbs. Thanks to Jade the man I caught my very first river salmon.

OK, I'm back... Tonight we watched YouTube to learn how to fillet a salmon. We just finished up, and it's almost 1am! I touched my very first fish (OK, I had a plastic bag over my hand, but close enough!) My job was to pull the pin bones out with pliers: ) I named her Samantha. Here she is!

Camping!

We went on our first camping trip with Ayva over Memorial Day weekend. Brent and Chelsee invited us to go with them, and we had so much fun! Thanks again guys! Ayva was soooo good...she even popped out her first two teeth while we were roughing it, and hardly complained!
